Keep Busy

Think ahead as to what you will do to distract yourself when hunger hits. For me I have to do something calming and creative, like coloring or drawing. I suggest journaling your feelings or goals, even taking a quiet stroll. It gives you clarity. You can think about why you want to fast. You can focus on the future and the work you are putting in. Also reading books for pleasure or education. You can learn a new hobby or whatever floats your boat. You will notice there is a lot of time in a day when you are not preparing food or eating. There is more time to fill the void with something you like to do that is rewarding. Sleeping also is great during this time. You may not have a lot of energy in the beginning of your fast so sleeping is excellent.
